It was stated that the cultural distance, worries and the perception of social threats among the communities should be reduced in order to increase public support for a possible peace plan for Cyprus.

It was also stated that certain sectors of both societies are less ready to support a possible political settlement. The women and those who are between 18-35 years of age are less ready to support a possible political settlement in the Greek Cypriot community. In the Turkish Cypriot community; those who are in the right-wing compared with the other people are far from supporting a possible political settlement.

These are just some of the key conclusions of the Social Cohesion and Reconciliation (SCORE) Index published by the Centre for the Reconciliation and Peace (SeeD).
